Ashley Arnold of Arnold Acres Homestead
Arnold Acres Homestead is a charming 8 acre property nestled into a woodsy back road of Jamestown, CA. The homestead is owned and operated by Ashley and Brandon Arnold, along with their son Decker. They have been building up their little bucolic oasis for over 4 years and have created a charming community hub for locals to source homemade sourdough, farm fresh eggs, and more!
The Homestead
With Brandon being a lineman, the family spent 8 years on the road living in an RV to travel alongside him for work. They eventually settled in Jamestown in 2019 and then landed on their current property in 2022. Almost immediately, Ashley brought home baby chicks (as one does) and housed them in the shed/craft room, which naturally led to them building a chicken coop as the chicks grew and were ready to be moved outside. Chickens soon led to other livestock, and now the family processes all of their own poultry (some years on their own, and some with the help of others). Since it all started they have processed over 150 meat birds, and haven’t had to buy chicken at the store in 3 years.
According to Ashley, she never would have imagined herself becoming a stay-at-home homeschooling mom and homesteader. Her vision for her family’s future changed drastically when she first started becoming aware of our large-scale food system and meat production processes. Inspired after seeing the dismal state of care for animals in our current meat production system, she knew she wanted something better for her family.
In the past they have had turkeys and ducks, but currently residing on the homestead are a full flock of chickens, some pigs, and even a garden tortoise! They are presently building up their garden to increase their growing space and hope to someday have sheep, goats, and a donkey as their operation (and their fencing) grows.
The Farm Stand
Upon arriving at the farm stand you are greeted by a hand painted American flag on display with a backdrop of grazing chickens and an array of colorful snapdragons. Inside the stand there is a lovingly displayed assortment of goodies. Homemade sourdough products are made by Ashley, and the farm fresh eggs are laid by the family’s chickens. You can also find homemade salsa, honey, jams, crochet products, and tallow-based beauty products all produced by neighboring local makers.
The stand first started about 2 years ago, when the family (like many chicken enthusiasts) found themselves with an excess of eggs and needed a way to use them up. It has since grown into a community project, currently involving 7 local crafters. The stand accepts cash and Venmo, and is open most weekends (you can see the hours and what is available each week on their social media pages) at 9950 Peppermint Circle in Jamestown, CA.
As this project grows, they are hoping to become involved in our local farmer’s markets and other events. Their first event will be the upcoming “Welcome Home” maker’s market event on Saturday, May 2nd 2026. The event will be happening from 10:00am-3:00pm and is located at 1990 Quail Hill Rd, Copperopolis CA 95228.

Ashley’s ultimate mission is to foster community and help those around her to build up their own skills - allowing each of us to lean into our own talents while having the ability to rely on our neighbors and friends to come through in the spaces where we as individuals fall short. Quoting the old adage “a jack of all trades is a master of none”, Ashley has made it a staple of her homesteading experience to master her own skills and encourage her neighbors and friends to do the same - as opposed to everyone trying to master everything all by themselves (because nobody can do it all). Together we can all thrive.

That is so cool! I love the chickens, but the neighborhood coming together to highlight each other's skills and offer a healthy, local option for food is very encouraging to see. I would love to check it out
